what do i care? why do i care?

I borrow slogans from placards held by activists on demonstrations to publicise different causes that concern me, such as halting the use of fossil fuels or protecting our human right to protest. The signs are painted onto old fabric to emulate protest signs. Monumentalising this anger, through the language of activist materials mounted on a ‘protest tent’, enables me to reignite these messages with a new audience. Photographed in Peckham Rye Park, on the site where Extinction Rebellion based their camp in April 2022.
